Today's painting is a little wren. I believe it's called a Carolina Wren.
Sketching is a challenge for me but I'm reasonably happy with how this little bird turned out.
I used Payne's Gray, Burnt Sienna and Yellow Ochre.
What I'm finding, as I start to work my way through 30-Minute Watercolor Animals by Kiley Busko, is that I don't need to follow step-by-step.
Even though this is only the 2nd painting I've posted here, I've actually painted about 10 of them. So now I'm realizing that I just need to use her reference drawing, use the colours she's listed, but only loosely follow her tutorial.
That's progress! Not having to follow along step-by-step-by-step.
See you tomorrow!
