Day 6: Mallard Duck

 

This is my favourite painting this week!

I love the looseness and the way his little tail feathers disappear off the side.

And I had more success with the intentional water blooms.

I used Cascade Green for his head, which I think worked very well. Though as I look again I realize I forgot to add the last little touch -- a gouache dab on the eye for a reflection. Sigh.
