We see lots of herons here on Vancouver Island so I really enjoyed painting this beautiful bird.
I used Prussian blue, yellow ochre, burnt umber, and Payne's grey.
I'm starting to get a feel for the looseness, but I struggle with the final details. They often seem a little stark to me.
I'm still following the tutorials from the book 30-Minute Watercolor Animals by Kiley Busko.
The next painting is a mouse, I believe. Definitely a mammal -- I remember that much:)
Happy painting!
